Regina Canada Day

Frequently Asked Questions

When do the fireworks start?

Fireworks start at 10:30 p.m. or later, depending on when the sun sets!  If a storm is imminent and the weather becomes a factor, we will try and hold off until the scheduled time, but for safety of everyone in the park and the fireworks team, we sometimes have to quickly make a decision whether to cancel or set them off right away. If a storm is threatening, I would ERR on the side of caution and come to the park earlier just in case Mother Nature forces us to begin the show early.

What are the events on June 30th?

June 30th is our day to set up the activities in Wascana Park.

What is the best way to get to Wascana Park and where can we park?

We are encouraging everyone to 'Think Green' when planning and making their way down to Wascana Park. City transit will be operating on a Sunday schedule with regular fare rates and we will have a valet service courtesy of Bike Regina.

Parking around the park will be extremely limited to side streets.

What streets are closed around Wascana Park and for how long?

The following streets will be closed: Legislative Drive, McCallum Ave. and 21st Ave. Individuals requiring handicapped parking and approved Regina Canada Day vehicles may use Hill Boulevard to access designated parking lots.

Where is the best place to sit for the fireworks?

Fireworks can be seen throughout all of Wascana Park. However, anywhere along the lakeshore is ideal.
